Charlottesville-Right Now: Kent Willis on the postponed execution of Percy Walton

Kent Willis is the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union in Virginia. He joins Coy Barefoot of Charlottesville-Right Now to discuss Percy Walton, a Virginian who was convicted and sentenced to death for three murders in 1996. Governor Tim Kaine recently stayed his execution planned for December 9th, questioning whether he is mentally fit to be executed. As governor, Kaine could indefinitely postpone the execution or issue a pardon to Willis – but for now, Kaine is waiting for Willis’ mental competency to be evaluated before moving forward.
