Waynesboro Police Officer Mark Kearney, joined Charlottesville Right Now on Tuesday, October 14th to discuss the Book Em Foundation. The non-profit group seeks to reduce crime rates by boosting literacy rates. They recently held their 3rd annual festival in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
On the September 28th edition of WNRN’s Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call, Rick Moore welcomes Beth Golden of Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle. The LVCA provides one-on-one, confidential tutoring in basic literacy and English as a second language to adults living or working in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. This is also pledge week at WNRN, and Rick speaks eloquently about the importance of community radio.
