On the June 28, 2009 edition of WNRN’s Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call, Rick Moore holds a discussion about the job market, or lack thereof, for recent high school and college graduates. Carter Hopkins, UVA’s Director of Alumni Career Services and Tom Fitch, Assistant Dean for Career Services at the McIntire School of Commerce discuss the challenges students face and ways they can put the right foot forward.
Hopkins and Fitch discuss the importance of networking services such as LinkedIn and Twitter, the changing purpose of internships and the skills job-seekers can learn to help them both today and when the all-but-inevitable career switch occurs down the line.
