On the July 7th Wake Up Call, host Rick Moore talks with Prof. John Portmann about his new book, The Ethics of Sex and Alzheimer’s. They will discuss the growing problem of Alzheimer’s, how it affects marriages/relationships and the challenges faced by the patients themselves, their significant other and loved ones, as well as the moral implications of these topics.

Sue Friedman is the President of the Central and Western Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, and joins Rick in the studio to answer questions about the disease. Why does it occur? How can you distinguish normal age-related memory loss from more serioius concerns such as Alzheimer’s? A mother also relates her experiences dealing with dementia, which both her parents suffered from.
