Gary Nordlinger is the president of the political consulting firm Nordlinger and Associates. He joined Coy Barefoot on the September 25th edition of WINA’s Charlottesville–Right Now to discuss his career, the history of political consulting, and the somewhat negative perception many political observers have of people in his profession.
“Campaign consultants influence the ten to twelve percent of the voters that just don’t pay attention to politics,” says Nordlinger. “They want their information handily condensed, and that is what a political consultant does at least at my end of the business.”
Nordlinger also tells some stories from the campaign trail, and handicaps the 2008 Presidential election. He also gives advice on how to withstand the upcoming onslaught of political ads.
