7.14.10- Tyler Magill, long-time veteran DJ at WTJU, fills Coy in on the happenings at the free-form radio station owned by the University of Virginia. He tells Coy about Monday’s town-hall meeting where it was decided that WTJU would remain eclectic. In addition, Magill gives his vision for changes he would like to implement at WTJU.
7.14.10- Jeff Chidester, of the Miller Center of Public Affairs, joins Coy live in Studio. He is the co-author of “The Regan Years:At Regan’s Side”. Multiple presidencies are discussed and several clips of past interviews were played throughout the segment. Other topics include up-coming events which will take place at the Miller Center.
7.14.10- John Whitehead, CEO and Founder of the Rutherford Institute, chats with Coy about education. Topics include the recent incident with the censoring of the Albemarle HS newspaper, the classroom curriculum, and how public schools are run.
7.13.10- Filmmaker Kevin Edds, of the Discovery Channel, talks live with Coy Barefoot. They discuss the recent passing of Howard Goodwin and Edds’ up-coming documentary WAHOOWA.
7.12.10 Eric Strucko, Vice Chair of the Albemarle School Board, continues to update Coy Barefoot on the happenings of the School Board. Topics include the relationship between the Board of Supervisors and the School Board, cuts in the budget and how the county plans to respond.
7-12-10- Bob Holsworth, of Virginia Tomorrow, joins Coy as he does every Monday afternoon. Bob Holsworth serves as a member of the Virginia Higher Education Committee, which met for the first time today. Bob filled Coy in on the meeting, where the issue of whether to raise or cap out of state enrollment at UVA was discussed. Other topics include an update on the National D-Day memorial in Bedford.
7.9.10- Eric Strucko, of the Albemarle School Board, gives Coy an update on the county schools. Topics include the resolution of the dugout debate.
7.8.10- Historian Rick Britton and Coy Barefoot continue their countdown of the most important Civil War Battles which took place in Virginia. Today’s topics include, The Battle at Cross Keys, The Battle at Port Republic, and The Battle of Gaines’ Mill. Tune in next Thursday to listen as the countdown continues.
