Jack Trammell on the Blue Ridge Anthology for 2009

On Monday, December 15th, 2008, Jack Trammell, President of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Writer’s Club, joined Charlottesville Right Now to discuss the Blue Ridge Anthology 2009. This is the second edition of the anthology, which collects the works of local writers. Coy’s first piece of published fiction appears in this edition. The book will be featured at the upcoming Virginia Festival of the Book.

Former local heroes Danny Schmidt and Carrie Elkin dropped by Acoustic Sunrise this morning for an interview with Anne Williams at WNRN. They each played a couple of songs. They are playing tonight at the Gravity Lounge. They’ll head to the Little Grill in Harrisonburg tomorrow and will be in Blacksburg on Saturday. Videos will be up soon at youtube.com/WNRNradio.

Danny was just signed to Red House Records and will have a new album out on March 10, 2009.

Ray Nedzel climbed into the balcony of Live Arts to hear some wonderful singing in the production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd. Then he had conversions with Lydia Horan, who plays Mrs. Lovett; John Gibson, the director; Ken Ferguson, who is in the ensemble; and Doug Schneider, who plays Sweeney. Milton and Sami from the band Milton dropped by WNRN this morning for an interview with Anne Williams on Acoustic Sunrise. They were just swinging through Charlottesville and the WNRN studios on their way to their next show in Knoxville. Milton played a few songs from their new album “Grand Hotel”.
