Secretly Yall

Secretly Y’all is a unique story-telling collective in Charlottesville and Richmond that holds events every month at Random Row Books in Charlottesville. The public is invited to tell a true story in front of a crowd in the name of bringing people together.

On March 14, 2010, the topic was “At War” and one of the tellers was Karen Zvarych. You can read her story “The Good Fixer” at the Toasted Cheese Literary Journal.

The next Secretly Y’all event is this Sunday, September 12, 2010. Thanks to the Olivarez Trio for providing the music. The theme is No Place Like Home.

In November 2010, Leslie Channel, one of Secretly Y’all’s Co-Founders, and Browning Porter, a local writer, poet, musician and storyteller, got together to discuss the art of storytelling, it’s movement within Charlottesville and the relationship between storytelling and music.

Debra reads entries from her middle school journal.
