Mike Doughty and Andrew “Scrap” Livingston dropped by The Corner Lounge, on location at Virginia Arts Studio, before their show in town. Doughty talks about The Question Jar, Snack Bar Records, and his new album “Sad Man Happy Man”.

Via phone from New Zealand, Jeff Sweatman talks with Neil Finn about the Oxfam benefit “7 Worlds Collide” and their recent 2xCD release. Neil Finn is a founding member of Split Enz, The Finn Brothers, and Crowded House. “7 Worlds Collide” is a all-star benefit with many musicians including Jeff Tweedy, Bic Runga, KT Tunstall, and many more.

Boston-based indie artist Sarah Blacker dropped by to speak with Jeff Sweatman before her recent appearance in Charlottesville. When she’s not touring the East Coast, she works as a music therapist at a Boston area hospital.

The always-entertaining Jill Sobule talks about her fan-funded album, calls Katy Perry a “title-thieving slut”, and makes Brad Savage sing. You may recognize Jill for her 1995 song “I Kissed A Girl”, but she’s been building a steady fanbase for 15 years with her ironic and quirky songwriting.

Fredericksburg native Erin McKeown talks about returning to Charlottesville, her new album, and ethnomusicology in this Corner Lounge interview with Brad Savage.

Before their appearance in Charlottesville, Brooklyn indie trio Elizabeth & The Catapult dropped by The Corner Lounge. They somehow managed to fit a keyboard into our tiny, temporary studio space during building renovations… and the live session turned out great!
