Courteney Stuart, a reporter for the Hook, has been following the story of Gerry Mitchell very closely. Mitchell was the wheelchair bound man struck by an Albemarle County police officer last November at the corner of West Main and 4th Street. The dash-cam video of the incident has now been released, prompting another round of discussions about pedestrian safety in Charlottesville. Stuart joins Coy Barefoot on WINA’s “Charlottesville–Right Now!” to talk about the incident. Mitchell was originally ticketed for jaywalking while in the emergency room, though the case was later dropped.
Hi Folks, Since the C’ville police are stubbornly involved in a cover up of the Gerry’s accident, we have started a petition requesting the City Council and Attorney General to investigate.
