Mel Leffler and Jeff Legro are professors at the University of Virginia, and Co-Chairs of the Governing America in a Global Era (or GAGE) program at the Miller Center of Public Affairs. A primary focus of the program deals with recognizing the connection between domestic and foreign issues (“How will Democratic control of the Senate and House affect Africa?” for instance). Legro says GAGE strives to “bring the world of scholarship to focus on issues of contemporary policy.”
They talk specifically about governmental trade between the US and China, as well as some of the upcoming events the GAGE program will be hosting.
