Every summer, the
Sorensen Institute at the University of Virginia brings college students from across the state to go through the
College Leaders Program. The first week of this year’s class has just finished, and Coy Barefoot spoke with two of its members on the June 1 edition of WINA’s Charlottesville–Right Now. Marc Johnson is the Director of Youth Programs at the Sorensen Institute. Chalana Williams of Radford University and Andrew Lamar of the University of Mary Washington speak about why they’re giving up part of their summer. You can track the progress of the program on the
Sorensen Institute’s blog.
Charlottesville–Right Now is broadcast live Monday through Friday on NewsRadio 1070 WINA from 4 to 6pm. Best-selling author and historian Coy Barefoot is the host and producer. To participate in the program, you can call 434-977-1070. Coy can be reached at barefoot@wina.com.
