Many Central Virginia governments are drafting up contingency plans in case the General Assembly does not come to an agreement on a state budget, the Lynchburg News and Advance reported Monday. Budget negotiators in the House of Delegates and the Senate are trying to hammer out a plan to help pay for transportation projects in the state. Blair Goldstein writes that without state money, local governments won’t be able to pay for many non-essential services. Goldstein was the guest on the Monday, May 22 edition of WINA’s Charlottesville–Right Now to discuss her article.
